Long before Manson's incarnations of several apocalyptic Beasts from the Bible's book of Revelation, and before verses from Revelation 12 were reproduced in the artwork for Antichrist Svperstar ), the band had already alluded to these holy scriptures, in the 1994 single 'Get Your Gunn' video. Indeed, stressing the vitriolic aspect of this pamphlet on the dramatic absurdity behing the 1993 anti-abortion murder of Dr. David Gunn, selected apocalyptic prophecies from Revelation chapters 9 and 13 can be seen subliminally scrolling in several sequences (reconstructed here by NACHTKABARETT collaborator Gilles R. Maurice).

 

 

The fragments displayed during the two first choruses are prophecies that can more or less relate to abortion, the seeking of death it represents, and a talion-like suggestion of what should be done to those who practise it, but the choice of these particular verses paradoxically leads to the aberration of Gunn's murder and killing in the name of life. From this perspective it's a perfect manifestation of the Marilyn/Manson dichotomy of opposites.

 

 

The video also displays several close-ups on a bloodied document of biblical nature, possibly an unfolded pro-life Christian leaflet, evoking the violence of abortion and Gunn's tragic murder. The two verses printed in the center are clearly identical to the scrolling passages previously discussed, which gives a whole new dimension to Manson's choice of these particular passages, directly borrowing from his ennemies to destroy them :

The third passage subliminally scrolling on the screen during the last seconds, probably not a quote from the same pro-life leaflet but rather Manson's answer to it and to Gunn's murder directly quoted from the Bible, is another prophecy from Revelation 13 pertaining to the number of the Beast. Both an example of the band's prominent allusions to Satanism and the number 666 during its Spooky Kids years, and a premonition of Manson's later incarnations of the Beast of Revelation, including its often attributed earthly manifestation Nero Caesar :
